High-efficiency hybrid heating
Heat Pump Water Heater
Air-source heat pump water heaters that deliver hot water around the clock at a fraction of the running cost of an electric geyser.
- Efficiency Up to 4× COP
- Operation All-weather
- Use Home & hotel

Overview
A heat pump water heater works like an air-conditioner in reverse — it harvests heat from the surrounding air and pumps it into your water, spending a little electricity to move heat rather than generate it. The result is hot water around the clock at up to a quarter of the running cost of an electric geyser.
Surya Urja’s air-source heat pump water heaters deliver a high coefficient of performance (COP up to about 4) in all weather, making them ideal for hotels, hostels, hospitals and homes with steady year-round demand — and the perfect all-day, all-weather partner to solar.

Highlights
Why it stands out
The engineering details that make the Heat Pump Water Heater a dependable, long-term choice.
Up to 4× efficiency (COP)
Moves roughly four units of heat for every unit of electricity — up to 75% lower running cost than a resistive geyser.
24×7 hot water
Unlike solar, it does not depend on sunshine — consistent hot water day, night and through the monsoon.
All-weather operation
Engineered to extract heat efficiently across India’s temperature range.
Pairs with solar
Use standalone, or as the efficient backup to a solar water heater for the lowest hot-water cost overall.
Domestic to commercial
Compact home units through high-capacity modules for hotels, hostels and industry.
Low carbon, low cost
Far less running cost and carbon than gas or electric — it draws on ambient heat, a renewable source.

FAQ
Questions, answered
How does it cost less than a geyser?
It moves existing heat from the air instead of creating heat with a coil, so it uses up to 75% less electricity for the same hot water.
Does it work in winter?
Yes — air-source heat pumps extract heat even from cool air. Output and efficiency taper in very cold conditions, where a built-in backup element assists.
Heat pump or solar water heater?
Solar is cheapest to run when the sun shines; a heat pump runs any time, day or night. Many sites use solar by day with a heat pump as efficient backup.
Where should it be installed?
In a ventilated space — often a terrace or utility area — where it can draw a steady airflow. It also mildly cools and dehumidifies its surroundings.
