Flat Plate Collector
FPC Solar Water Heater
Copper-absorber flat plate systems built for pressurised lines and industrial-scale heating setups.
- Capacity 200 L – 1000 L
- Absorber Copper
- Use Industrial

Overview
An FPC (Flat Plate Collector) solar water heater heats water as it passes through a copper grid bonded to a black-coated absorber plate, sealed under toughened glass in an insulated box. Rugged and pressure-tolerant, FPC is the workhorse choice for hotels, terraces with pressure pumps, and industrial hot-water lines.
Surya Urja FPC systems use copper absorbers with selective coatings for high thermal yield, and are built for pressurised supply and hard-water service — available in thermosiphon or forced-circulation configurations, with heat-exchanger variants for very hard water.
Highlights
Why it stands out
The engineering details that make the FPC Solar Water Heater a dependable, long-term choice.
Copper-absorber durability
A copper riser-and-header grid resists corrosion and delivers steady output for decades of service.
Works under pressure
Handles overhead-tank pressure and pressure pumps — strong, even flow at every tap and shower.
Hard-water ready
Closed-loop heat-exchanger variants keep scaling out of the collector in hard-water regions.
Scales to industry
Bank multiple collectors for hostels, hotels and process heat — from 200 L to several thousand litres a day.
All-metal build
Toughened glass, mineral-wool insulation and a powder-coated casing stand up to weather and roof heat.
Eligible for incentives
Certified components eligible for applicable incentives and accelerated depreciation for businesses.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Why is FPC better for hotels and industry?
It tolerates line pressure and continuous high-volume draw, and banks easily into large arrays — ideal for commercial and process loads.
Can FPC handle hard water?
Yes — our closed-loop heat-exchanger variant keeps scaling out of the collector, the key to long life in hard-water areas.
Thermosiphon or forced circulation?
Thermosiphon (tank above the collector) is simplest and pump-free. Forced circulation adds a small pump and controller for large arrays, or where the tank sits below the collectors.
Is there a tax benefit for businesses?
Commercial solar thermal typically qualifies for accelerated depreciation. Your accountant can confirm the current rate; we provide compliant documentation.
